Our country was built on a promise: work hard, keep your nose to the grindstone, and your children will have a better life. That promise is broken.
It’s broken because the folks under the Gold Dome listen to big-dollar donors instead of their constituents. They’ve sacrificed livability for profitability. Georgia families pay the price.
It doesn’t require a tax increase to fix it. This year alone, Georgia will give away $2.5 billion in tax revenues to data center companies and get less than $400 million back. That money could rebuild the promise.

Three keys to a fair shake:
Protect our environment. Our lives are rooted in these ancient mountains. Federal cuts to the Forest Service — including the closure of our regional office and a budget slashed by two-thirds — threaten the natural beauty that defines our community and drives our economy.
Build vibrant communities. That means families who aren’t one illness away from bankruptcy, parents who can find affordable childcare, workers who can afford to live where they work, schools funded to succeed, and communities where our children can build a career without leaving home.
Plan development thoughtfully. Developers should pay the full cost of their projects instead of passing the bill to taxpayers. We need mixed-use development that holds its value — not strip malls and apartments that deteriorate and drive property values down. That requires campaign finance reform to end the financial leverage developers have over legislators.
A fair shake means breathing clean air, seeing a doctor when you’re sick, affording to live where you work, and knowing your kids will have something worth staying for. That’s livability. That’s what I’m running to rebuild.
